The first step in this process is a multiaxial mental health assessment, which is performed to diagnose the problem and assist in developing a plan
to treat the condition. A Consultation's approach to Psychotherapy is from a Biopsychosocial perspective, which looks at the biological, psychological
and social environment influences, contributing to the problem. Some of the eclectic method's used by the therapist in treatment are from psychodynamic, cognitive/behavioral and interpersonal theory. Mental patterns, belief systems and negative thoughts/ behaviors creating life experience can be explored.
If a Client chooses, complimentary alternative methods can be learned to assist in improving emotional states. Clients are empowered to take an active part
in the change process.
